Shelly comes from a very diverse background with more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, workforce management, sales/business development management, strategic planning, financial acumen and strong leadership development skills. She has held previous roles including Chief Operations Officer for a multi-state operation. Ms. Szarek-Skodny began her career in post-acute care as a Regional Human Resource Manager for a HCR/Manor Care and moved into operations quickly.
She has worked with Kindred, Altercare of Ohio, HCR/Manor Care, University Hospitals, and has partnered with Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Summa Healthcare. She has been a multi-site manager in several industries and brings that breadth and depth to her clients.
She then proceeded to work within non-profit, private, for-profit entities in large and mid-size corporations. She has a track record of success and currently serves in state and national capacities for consultation within her own consulting firm started in 2009.
She is the President for the Ohio Person Centered Care Coalition created under Governor Kasich and Transformational Change, an active committee member of Ohio Health Care Association (Human Resources, Reimbursement and Quality), Leading Age Ohio, National Pioneer Network Representative for Ohio, AHCA and National Transition of Care member. She is the founder of professional Networking Group and Executive Home Health Network.
She is a certified trainer and speaks professionally for McKnight’s Long Term Care, American Medical Directors Association, OHCA, American College of Health Care Administrators, and many more associations.
Her clients have included hospitals, CEOs, attorneys, private equity companies, cottage industry, technology firms and all levels of the continuum of the senior industry.
She is sought to speak nationally at conventions and serve on boards related to healthcare and human resources. She is an active committee member of Ohio Health Care Association (Human Resources, Finance and Quality), AHCA, and National Transition of Care Coalition member.

Regional Director of Therapy Operations
With more than 35 years clinical and managerial experience in a variety of settings, Jean directs and coordinates therapy operations, therapy personnel, recruiting, policy development, training, legal compliance and reimbursement from all insurers and all aspects of rehabilitative care. Jean is also skilled in consulting with other entities on optimizing the care, rehabilitation and reimbursement for a variety of patients in a host of different settings.
Jean’s history includes Regional Director of Operations for large and small corporations, both national and local. She has directed therapy staff and operations in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics and industrial rehabilitation as a Transitional Work Developer, Aquatics, Home Health Agencies and Acute Care. She has been with Diversified Health Partners since 2012.
With the ability and acumen to monitor Quality Assurance, MDS, Length of Stay and Functional Outcomes, the outcomes for the patients who are treated under the auspices of Diversified Health Partners have improved by better than 60%, case mix scores improved by 30%, and Part B claims were successfully defended and paid. As outcomes are the priority for patients, our Satisfaction Surveys have never been better. Jean has successfully implemented new technologies in the buildings in which she consults, including VitalStim and pressure mapping, as a means of providing optimized care for residents in the facilities, minimizing acquired pressure sores and maximizing quality of life.
As a member of the volunteer board for Cuyahoga Community College’s Center for Applied Gerontology, as well as other non-profit boards in the civic arena, Jean has provided education for a variety of healthcare workers, as well as lay people in the community. She has participated as a member of the Speaker’s Bureau for support groups, religious organizations, local bar associations and healthcare professional organizations.
Vice President of Business Development and Marketing
Jody comes to Diversified Health Partners, LLC, with more than 22 years of executive and management level experience. She is an accomplished and innovative professional with a specialty leadership background in senior health and housing within post-acute communities.
In addition to working for two of the largest national long-term care providers, she has worked and project-managed for industry leading area companies, both for profit and philanthropic. Manor Care, Essex Healthcare, Beverly Enterprises and Paragon Rehabilitation Services have been her clients.
Jody has a proven track record as a strategic team builder who delivers successful bottom line outcomes in business development and planning, marketing, sales and census challenges. Her professional experience includes V.P. of Business Development, Corporate Director of Marketing and Midwest Regional Marketing Manager.
Jody is forward thinking with a results-driven outlook that carries over from her professional to her personal life. She is a graduate of Kent State University, Alumni member of Alpha Phi Sorority and has helped in several positions on community and industry boards of directors.

As a graduate of Walsh University, Dee has been involved in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. Dee has held positions as Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Reimbursement, Director of Nursing, Corporate and Regional Nurse Consultant, Clinical Turn-Around Specialist/Crisis Management Consultant on a national level as well as, is President of DR Kostolich and Associates LLC.
Dee has a clear vision, with practical hands-on approach to achieve outstanding results in the clinical arena. She has a proven track record of improving, creating working clinical systems, reimbursement and quality to long-term care facilities.
She actively serves on the Ohio Healthcare Association’s Council of Nurses, Facility Standards, Regulatory and Educational Committees, Convention Committee, Quality Commission, and Billing Subcommittee. She is a highly respected speaker and educator that is recognized in “Who’s – Who” amongst Professional Nursing Leaders. Her healthcare expertise includes but not limited to the following specialties: Medicare/Medicaid Compliance Reviews, Pre and Post Survey Compliance, RAC Readiness Reviews, re-engineering of clinical systems, Case-Mix reimbursement management, and is also a Partner with PointClickCare. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators, Ohio Healthcare Association and National Association of Sub-Acute/Post-Acute Care Providers
